From Scientific Question to Reliable Data

In September of 2025 my team and I had an opportunity to work with Elsa at the Salk Omics Core. We were naïve to the various options available for spatial transcriptomics. Elsa took us through a detailed review of spatial transcriptomics, from transcriptomic profilers to imaging systems. She addressed the myriads of questions we posed regarding advantages and tradeoffs of the various systems. Her wealth of knowledge in this area was impressive, and her passion for this exciting field of science showed through. We left the meeting with a much greater appreciation for the intricacies and promise of this exciting field of scientific exploration. Our interactions with Elsa have helped shape our thinking.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Elsa Molina, Director of the Single-Cell and Spatial OMICS Core at the Salk Institute, during our recent spatial biology technology assessment. Elsa's depth of expertise in single-cell and spatial transcriptomics is truly impressive. She guided our team through complex protocol comparisons, instrument selection, and workflow optimizations with clarity.

Elsa's ability to distill technical details into actionable insights made our decision-making process much more effective. Her feedback on platform usability, data handling, and market trends was highly valuable.

I'm immensely fortunate to have been involved with the Stem Cell Genomics and Microscopy Core, and to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing, dedicated individual; the experiences, skills, and knowledge I gained under her close guidance reinforced my foundation, and inevitably my growth, as a researcher. It's without doubt that Dr. Molina is very talented, as her considerable expertise is reflected in how she skillfully handles situations and manages expectations. She always goes out of her way to foster a positive, productive work environment, and shows great willingness to teach, encourage questions, and promote collaboration; Dr. Molina demonstrates remarkable work ethic and dedication to scientific excellence.
